Touch the Sea Aquarium, Mapua

Touch the Sea Aquarium has been especially created
to allow the closest possible experience of a fascinating range
of New Zealand sea and shoreline life.

We visited out at Mapua today and had a blast!
Richard was the Education person who spoke to us about the "Touch the Sea" experience. We looked atPredators, the food chain and we even got to feed the fish and watch a wheke (octopus) eat a crab that was place in to its tank!
We thought it was pretty cool stroking the little sharks, the eels and the fish in the touch pools.
Thanks WhaeaJo for organising it, to all of our Parents who came with us, Whaea Janis, Whaea Karen, Whaea Kirsten, Whaea Vron, Matua David, Whaea Leanne, Whaea Martina,Whaea Christine, Whaea Jo, Whaea Carly, Whaea Donna and of course Whaea Trina.

As the moonlight hit the wall, an ancient stirring began. The old cemetery on Highway Road sighed and shuddered under the mist. John and Louise were working the "Graveyard" shift and were walking back towards the sheds. Just then, a movement caught their eyes. What was that? They looked at each other and silently walked on, keeping an eye on where they were walking. Suddenly a loud crash was heard behind them. They turned and saw a..........

Exposition Writing

We have been looking at Exposition writing this term. Exposition means you describe something in your writing. The way we have done this is we have taken adventures and described things for the first time. This week we concentrated on "How to.." i.e- how to put a jersey on, how to draw a pig, how to draw a transformer, how to do a trick on the skateboard.

Ānei ngā kōrero mai ētahi ō mātou:

HOW TO DRAW AN ALIVE EGG- NĀ LUCY

Step 1: Draw an oval for a body

Step 2: Draw 2 dots for eyes

Step 3: Draw a mouth

And there yo have it! An alive egg!

HOW TO MAKE A SPIDER (INU)- NĀ HEIDI

Step 1: You will need a cup, icecream, a type of fizzy and a spoon

Step 2: Get the cup and pour a little ice cream on the bottom then pour fizzy again on top

Step 3: Put more ice cream on top

Step 4: If you want to add sprinkles use jelly cyrstals, crushed flake. Put the spoon into your cup

Step 5: Enjoy!
