My language is my awakening
I see through my eyes and carry the blood of my ancestors
I hear with my ears and I listen to the melodious songs of ngā manu
I smell the kākara of fresh water running on the whenua
I taste the aroha of all the people around me and I am comforted
I touch with my wairua, my ihi, my mana
He kākanō ahau
I am a seed, born of greatness.
