Parihaka

Kiaora whanau
Yesterday the 5th of November we celebrated, shared, and presented on our understanding of Parihaka. This has been one of the areas we have studied. We have listened, learnt and watched snippets from YouTube, and archived material from the National Library.
Here are some photos of the work we did, and also our passive resistance where we lined up like fence posts and fell one by one when the soldiers walked past us, then we got back up again.
We also made the raukura with our bodies- the raukura representing, Glory to God, Peace on Earth, Good will to all mankind.
Nā Karama, Anne, Ra.
